How do I share a video in a post?

We've made it easy to share video in Honey no matter where your video file is stored. To share a video in your post, you have a number of options to choose from.

Share a video from YouTube or Vimeo.

To share a video that's currently hosted on YouTube or Vimeo...

  • Simply copy the the video URL from your browser and paste it into your post's text body.
  • If your URL is on a line of text by itself, it will embed as a video player automatically. If it is not, click the link after you've pasted it and"Include Link Preview" from the menu options. This will embed your video player.
  • Easy as that!

Share a video file from a cloud service (i.e. Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive)

Sharing videos from a cloud service can be a little tricky, because some of them limit our ability to embed the video right in Honey.

Currently, the only cloud service that permits us to embed your video within Honey is Google Drive — you can find the directions to do so below. If you're using Box, Dropbox, or One Drive and you'd like to embed your video as a player within Honey, your best option is to use the file upload option listed above.

  • Click the paperclip icon in the formatting tool bar at the top of your post compose form.
  • Select "Google Drive" from the dropdown options.
  • This will open a file picker, find and select your file.
  • You'll see your video will upload to your post form.
  • Finish your post and publish! Upon publishing, your video will embed as a video player so your post's viewers can watch your video right within Honey.
