Many of the features described below are only available to Employee Community admins. If you have questions about who can or cannot see these settings, please don't hesitate to send us a note. We'd be happy to help!

To link your Employee Community Org to BambooHR.

  1. Sign in as an admin user on BambooHR and click your profile at the top, right-hand corner of your profile.

  2. From the dropdown menu, select API Keys > Add new key > name the new key (ex. Honey Integration) > click Generate Key.

  3. Once you click Generate Key, the API Key will appear highlighted in red.

  4. Right-click to copy this API Key.

  5. Then, open Employee Community and locate your profile icon on the top, right-hand side of the page. Select Admin from the dropdown menu.

  6. Once on the Admin page, select BambooHR from the left navigation menu.

  7. Add your company slug, which can be pulled directly from your domain name in your BambooHR URL.

  8. Then, in the second textbox labeled BambooHR API Token paste in the API token that you copied from Step 4.

  9. Toggle on the BambooHR Sync button and click Test Connection.

  10. Finally, click Submit Settings to save this in your Employee Community Org. You should see a blue confirmation banner to confirm this change at the top of your page.

Please note that it may take 5-10 minutes for all of your members to be fully integrated and the member count to update, within Employee Community

As your members are syncing, the employee information will be pulled over from BambooHR. Click here to learn more about what specific information will be shown in Employee Community.

Once the sync is complete, you'll want to set up SSO on Employee Community. Click here for more information on how to set this up.
