As your company grows and needs change, you may need to restructure how you organize information. That's why we've made it really easy to move, merge, and rename Groups and Topics.
Let's dive in...
Groups.
To merge a Group into another Group.
Select your desired Group and click the three-dot button on the top, right-hand side. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
While on the General tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Merge Group under the Maintenance Options header.
Select your destination Group from the dropdown menu and click the blue Merge button to save these changes.
All of your Posts and members from the original Group will now be merged with the new, destination Group.
To convert a Group into a Topic.
Select your desired Group and click the three-dot button on the top, right-hand side. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
While on the General tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Convert to Topic under the Maintenance Options header.
Select your destination Group from the dropdown menu and click the blue Convert button to save these changes.
All of the Posts and members in that Group will now go into a Topic, by the same name, within the selected destination Group.
Topics.
To move a Topic to a different Group.
Select your desired Group and click the three-dot button on the top, right-hand side. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
While on the Topics tab, click the three-dot button on the right-hand side of the desired Topic.
Then, click Move and select your destination Group from the dropdown menu.
Click the blue Move button to save these changes.
All of your Posts from this Topic will now be moved to the new, destination Group.
To convert a Topic into a new Group.
Select your desired Group and click the three-dot button on the top, right-hand side. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
While on the Topics tab, click the three-dot button on the right-hand side of the desired Topic.
Then click Convert to Group and click the blue Convert button to save these changes.
All of your Posts from this Topic will now be available on the Groups page as a new Group.
To merge a Topic within another Topic, within the same Group.
Select your desired Group and click the three-dot button on the top, right-hand side. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
While on the Topics tab, click the three-dot button on the right-hand side of the desired Topic.
Then click Merge Topic and select the remaining Topic from the dropdown menu. Click the blue Merge button to save these changes.
All of your Topics from the original Topic will now be merged with the new, destination Topic, within the same Group.
Made a mistake and accidentally moved something to the wrong place? Don't worry, many of these changes can be restored by reversing any of the above steps.
