Our Slack integration is a powerful tool that makes managing information that moves between the two platforms as easy as possible.
To share a Post from Employee Community to Slack (one-off).
To share a single Post from Employee Community into a Slack channel or direct message...
Open the Employee Community Post you'd like to share to Slack.
Click the three-dot button at the top, right-hand side of the Post page and select Share to Slack from the menu.
If you haven't already, you'll be asked to grant Honey access to your Slack account.
Then, select the channel or direct message in which you'd like to share the Post and click Share to Slack.
A small snippet of the Post and a link back to the Employee Community Post will be shared in the selected Slack channel or DM.
Sharing Posts from Employee Community to Slack (automated).
To automatically share Posts that are published in an Employee Community topic into a Slack channel...
Click the gear icon at the top, right-hand side of the navigation menu, and select Account Settings from the menu.
Then, click Integrations in the menu.
In the Add an Outbound Integration section on the right, click the Slack icon.
Then, select the Employee Community topic with the Posts you'd like to automatically share to Slack.
Click the Configure to Slack button. This will take you to a Slack permissions page.
In the Posts To section, select the Slack channel to which you'd like your Employee Community Posts to automatically publish.
Click Allow at the bottom of the page.
Once set up, all Posts that are shared to the Employee Community topic you selected will automatically be published to the Slack channel you selected. All shared Posts will include a small snippet of the Post and a link back to the Employee Community content.
To search Employee Community content from Slack.
If you spend the majority of your day in Slack, it can be helpful to search Employee Community content without leaving Slack. Using our Employee Community Slack commands, we'll show you how to view Posts...
While in the Slack message field, enter /honey search [keyword] adding in your specific keyword.
A shortlist of Employee Community Posts that include your keyword will appear and only be visible to you.
Click the link to view and access more results.
Use the Slack commands to also search Employee Community users...
While in the Slack message field, enter /honey user [name, email, or job title] adding in the known details of the desired user.
The user results will appear, only visible to you.
Click any hyperlink to access the entire profile on Employee Community.
